Glencore achieves sign-off for 52ha of rehabilitation

Glencore Australia’sUlan Coal project includes two approvedunderground mining operations which commenced production in 1986 and 2014respectively.

In 2020 Glencore securedland rehabilitation sign-off for 52 hectares – or 90football fields! – of the operation from theNSW Resources Regulator.

The area now contains more than 130 nativewildlife species including the endangered Painted Honeyeater. The area will be continually monitored andmaintained by Glencore until a self-sustaining ecosystem emerges.
